    WASP Research Arenas (WARA) are non-profit collaboration platforms offering increased research impact and potential for industrially significant breakthroughs, and a unique opportunity to validate and refine scientific theories in real-world settings that are relevant to industries. The mission of WASP Research Arena for Media and Language (WARA M&L) is to build a multidisciplinary ecosystem around Media AI, connecting scientific fields and a diversity of industrial segments. The primary of objective of WARA M&L is to foster personal relationships through shared tasks, one-to-one partner matching, and focused research seminars.

    Additionally, the arena leverages on-going investments in media infrastructure to verify emerging technologies and transfer solutions between verticals. It addresses research topics related to the generation and analysis of media data, and extrinsic effects of the same. To overcome thresholds for collaboration, the arena provides data management and benchmarking, together with engineering support and legal consultation on IP matters.     Collaboration opportunities

    We welcome new industrial partners willing to contribute in-kind to our community, and facilitate collaborations with the academic world through, for example, driving the Master student community working on relevant topics, supervising projects in the Master-level project course, organizing summer schools for WASP PhD students. In addition, WARA Media and Language provides funding for Industrial PhD projects, announced through yearly application calls open to our partners. More funding opportunities for Industrial PhD and Postdoc projects are available through open WASP calls on a yearly basis.
